Buka Puasa

Buka Puasa means "breaking of fast" in Malay. During the holy month of Ramadan, which is the month leading to the Muslim Hari Raya celebration, believers are required to fast from sunrise till sunset.

Attended a Buka Puasa buffet dinner at Palace of the Golden Horses with colleagues a few days ago. A large variety of mouth-watering food were served there; enough to fill everyone's stomach to the brim.

COOL!

National Monument

Paid a visit to Malaysia's National Monument last weekend. The monument was constructed to commemorate those who sacrificed their lives while defending the country.

A brief description is displayed at the monument and is shown below. (Click to enlarge)

1000 Lanterns

"Celebrate a 1000 Lanterns" is the theme for the Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration organised at Jade Hills on 6 Sep 2008. The clubhouse and the surrounding show village were beautifully decorated with thousands of lanterns of various colours and sizes.

The event started officially at 4:00pm but it was not until around 6:00pm that guests began trickling in.

The programme arranged for that evening include musical performances, choreographed dances, a drum symphony and children's games. Of course, most importantly, food and refreshments were served to fill empty stomachs.

As darkness approached, the lanterns were brightly lit to show off their colours.

In between performances, there were also psychedelic lights and contemporary music to entertain the crowd.

The visitors were seen enjoying themselves with the activities lined up for them.

Couldn't take many photos of the events that day due to work commitments. Nevertheless, here are a few more pictures to leave you with.

COOL... Can't wait for the next event at Jade Hills...

Disneyland

No, this is not Disneyland as you might have expected, but a housing estate that looks like Disneyland. This is Taman Putri Jaya located at Cheras, Selangor. You will notice these houses as you travel along Cheras-Kajang Expressway near Batu 9 Toll Plaza.

Notice that the corner house stand out among the rest with a rounded, bigger and higher "viewing tower".

Some houses have been repainted and decorated with bright striking colours;

while others have their original colours and design maintained.
