Precarious

Look at this! Is it a landslide? Is it soil erosion? Is it slope failure? Is it due to indiscriminate land clearing?

Probably, there are a thousand questions in your mind at the moment as of what actually is the reason behind what you see in this photo. Well, I am not in a position to answer your questions. What I can assume here is that these houses look like being in a very precarious situation. Photo taken at Jalan Kasah, Medan Damansara.

Double Decker

Spotted a double-decker bus in KL. Meant for tourists travelling within the city centre, maybe... It says "KL HOP-ON HOP-OFF" and "CITY TOUR". Well, might want to hop on to one of these one day and see where it goes... Anybody want to join me?

More Four-Storey Houses

Further to my previous article on this, I didn't know four-storey houses are so common in KL area until I come across this:

Location: Jalan Medang Serai, Bangsar

Using the same observation as the first photo taken in my previous article, the bottom two floors have a different design from the top two floors. As such, one can conclude that these four-storey houses are actually two double-storey houses. You can see here clearly that both upper unit and lower unit have one carpark space each. Making an educated guess, I believe the white gate belongs to the upper unit with the white window grilles, while the dark gate belongs to the lower unit with dark window grilles. Correct?

Crash

26 July 2008: Witnessed yet another tragedy on the road. This time it's a car that crashed into some hoarding by the roadside and landed on some empty land. As you can see from the second photo, the car is totally wrecked. Fire rescuers and policemen were already at the scene when i passed by the area which happened along Besraya Highway, near Serdang.

Burnt

21 July 2008: Major incident ahead. Thick black smoke going up the sky some 1 km in front of me causing me to be stuck in a traffic jam along KL-Seremban highway. Not sure whether I can make it through.

After some five minutes of bumper to bumper, I reached the spot where the smoke came from. It is actually a car on fire. Firemen had already arrived at the scene to douse off the fire.

Phew. What a relief.

Graffiti

Noticed this graffiti somewhere at Kuala Lumpur...

It says:
"NO RAPING!
NO RAPING PERIOD!!!
Rape the wall
Not the kids"

Very strong statements indeed. The message is very clear: Just go ahead and screw the wall, but leave the kids alone.

Another graffiti just beside the first one...

It says:

"JANGAN

BUANGAN

SAMPAH

DENDA"

which is translated as "Do not litter, fine". Well, the statement is alright with me, just that writing graffiti on the wall is just as bad as littering, right?

Petaling Street

Central Market and Petaling Street at the heart of Kuala Lumpur are two places that are synonymous to shoppers' paradise.

From watches to wallets,

sunglasses to shoes

and bags to belts, tourists and shoppers can easily find something interesting to be bought from here which suits their heart's desire.

Central Market is a building consisting of many many stalls and shops inside. This place is famous for its cultural items, although there are also many other stuffs to be found here nevertheless.

Colourful stuffs being displayed in one of the stalls in Central Market.

A typical scene outside Central Market where the never-ending stream of people walk past every day.

Located at a stone's throw away, Petaling Street has a Chinatown kind of atmosphere where hawkers and petty traders pit against each other to wow and convince potential customers to their stalls. The street has been renovated and decorated a few years back and is now fully shaded with lanterns hanging from the roof. A place not to miss if you are in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Tunnel

As the saying goes... there is a light of hope at the end of the dark tunnel...

However, what do you think of this... it is darkness at the end of the bright tunnel...

...shiver...

Soothing my senses.

Four-Storey Houses

Look at this four-storey house:

Location: Taman Sinaran, Kajang

As can be seen, it is actually made up of two double-storey houses. One can observe that the lower double-storey house is occupied while the upper double-storey house is vacant. The walls are painted in different colours anyway, confirming the above observation. The staircase seen here provides access to the upper unit.

Now take a look at another four-storey house below:

Location: Ipoh Garden East

Wow! This show house looks like a mini palace, with its modern architectural design and stunning facade. The Lower Ground Floor provides a cellar-cum-bar concept, a cosy corner to store bottles of wine and drink the night away. The Ground Floor is made up of the living room, dining room, kitchen, etc. The First Floor comprises the bedrooms and bathrooms.

Now comes the exciting part. A "deluxe" bedroom together with its attached bathroom occupies the entire Second Floor. The ambience here is really astounding, giving it a really penthouse-resort kind of feeling. You have to see and experience it for yourself.

COOL.

Old and New

Highrise of the olden days... also known as flats...

compared with the new and modern highrise of today... also known as luxury condominiums.

Fish of Prosperity

At the top floor of Sogo Department Store, Kuala Lumpur, there are plenty of goldfish to bring shoppers prosperity. Too nice not to share.

Preodua

No, I did not spell wrongly. This was what I saw as I stopped my car behind a Kancil one day. Managed to capture a photo of the car as shown below.

A new car is in town!
