View of KLCC

Managed to capture some shots of Petronas Twin Towers and the surrounding KLCC park from Traders Hotel.

It was a wet and rainy evening when I arrived.

Night came,
and the sky was dark,
but the towers can still be seen glimmering with light.

The next morning when I woke up,
the sun was shining brightly,
a promising new day ahead,
a day full of hope.

Life is COOL!

Jade Hills Charity Event

Remember the 1000 lanterns not too long ago? This time, a charity event was organised at Jade Hills on 16 Nov 2008 in conjunction with World Kindness Week.

Underprevileged children from some surrounding homes were transported here for some fun while participating in activities that were lined up for them.

Children getting ready for some action. KFC the Chicken can be seen here cheering and motivating the crowd.

Later on, there was a magic show to thrill the audience.

Those who were restless can always occupy themselves with some fun games that were arranged.

There were also art and colouring competitions for the creative ones.

It is hoped that this event has created awareness among the general public on the need to show kindness and charity to the needy and less fortunate in our society.

Remembering Ten Eleven

Remember this date last year, 10 Nov 2007? This was the day when an estimated 40,000 people from all walks of life gathered at various parts of KL to march to the palace to submit a memorandum to the King requesting for His Majesty's intervention for a clean and fair election. Photos shown below were taken near SOGO, which was one of the meeting points.

One year later, on 9 Nov 2008, people gathered for a candlelight vigil near Amcorp Mall, PJ. The theme this time is for the abolishment of the Internal Security Act (ISA).

Due to heavy police presence, the crowd dispersed and quietly moved on to PJ Civic Centre.

At the open area at PJ Civic Centre, the candlelight vigil continued for a short while.

Some short speeches were delivered by politicians and NGO members.

Raja Petra Kamarudin, who was just released from ISA detention, can be seen mingling with the crowd.

The night ended with police breaking up the gathering and arresting people.
