Remembering Ten Eleven

Remember this date last year, 10 Nov 2007? This was the day when an estimated 40,000 people from all walks of life gathered at various parts of KL to march to the palace to submit a memorandum to the King requesting for His Majesty's intervention for a clean and fair election. Photos shown below were taken near SOGO, which was one of the meeting points.

One year later, on 9 Nov 2008, people gathered for a candlelight vigil near Amcorp Mall, PJ. The theme this time is for the abolishment of the Internal Security Act (ISA).

Due to heavy police presence, the crowd dispersed and quietly moved on to PJ Civic Centre.

At the open area at PJ Civic Centre, the candlelight vigil continued for a short while.

Some short speeches were delivered by politicians and NGO members.

Raja Petra Kamarudin, who was just released from ISA detention, can be seen mingling with the crowd.

The night ended with police breaking up the gathering and arresting people.

they ignore the problem, the complaint, until people come out to protest, and they said, 'you all against the law.'
